But first ...
Photography can be like therapy with its healing power. Previously I never thought about that, but one day I realized that I feel calm, happy, focused, excited and feel many other emotions that are associated with happiness for me when I deal with photography.
My photography experience started with my father’s camera. Mommy showed me how to focus and to shoot with the camera “Zenit”. Then I didn’t feel anything except interest to get a picture.
Now I know how to get different lighted portraits and even how to make people feel excited and happier with photography while being took picture of them.
Resuming my discoveries I can admit that photography can have therapy effects as follows:
1. Nature photography: capturing the beauty of the outdoors can be both calming and uplifting.
2. Self-portraits: exploring your own emotions and experiences through self-portraits can be a powerful form of therapy.
3. Macro photography: zooming in on small, intricate details can encourage mindfulness and presence in the moment.
4. Reflections: photographing reflections in water or mirrors can be a metaphor for introspection and self-reflection.
5. Color therapy: playing with color and experimenting with different combinations can be a fun and therapeutic way to express your creativity.
6. Gratitude photography: focusing on things you are grateful for and capturing them in photos can promote positivity and mindfulness.
7. Embodiment photography: using photography to explore and embrace your body and physical self.
8. Photowalking: taking a camera for a walk and photographing anything that catches your attention can be a form of meditation and relaxation.
9. Portrait photography: connecting with others through empathetic and compassionate portraits can be relaxing and mindful.
10. Emotional photography for special therapeutic photography in order to help discover your emotions, live them and cope with emotions the most effective and ecological way.

We do start such photo shoots spiced up with psychology in Kyiv in June 2023, because most people in Ukraine, living in such deep stress and tension, need more help and effective tools to go through the troubles to our freedom and independence.
Started my active practice as photographer, I felt that photography can give supportive and therapy effect.
When I photographed wedding, I knew that It is useful, but I wanted more for my activity and started my personal research in this field. And I found some interesting stories that made me do what I do now with more enthusiasm.
Here are some inspiring stories:
One Vietnam war veteran, uses photography to deal with his PSTD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and depression caused by memories of the war. He actually formed a camera club for veterans. It has done a lot of great things for many of them. The club has helped veterans cope with post-war problems like being reclusive, fear of crowds, getting people to understand what and how they were feeling, and depression, among many others. The veterans look at their cameras as non-destructive substitutes for the guns and weapons they carried while fighting in the war.
2. Another story is about How photography gave a person hope again. After a serious road accident in 2009 and a weeks-long coma, he saw himself bound to the wheelchair as he could not walk and move his left arm. Depression became a state I lived in 24/7. His therapist advice to take up a new creative hobby, made him he learn the possibility of using photography as a form of therapy. Photography gave him something to think about that was not related to his pain or injuries. The improvements he noticed have made him emotionally and physically stronger.
3. Another story is mine. Every time, when I feel awfully bad or sad or think that there is no way out, I take camera and drag myself out of uncertainty into some certain actions that can have result. Previously I took camera and started my street photo shooting. Now I photograph in the studio. I do my self-photo shooting of all emotions I feel at that moment, be it sadness, despair, happiness or hope or even anger. The effect doesn't make me wait for it - shots and precessing the emotions work as therapy due to changing my personal psychological state. Here are some photos of different emotions. Some photo shootings were made when I felt that my life was broken and there was no way out. These photo sessions help me get out of frustration, get more discoveries about me and insights how to live here and now in harmony with myself
All this stuff and more are really effective to get a person out of trauma or to distance oneself from the problem to take a different look at the problem or at yourself or to live the strong negative emotions in the process of photography. It really helps.

How to get ready for photo shooting
You as a guest for this experience should have with you the apparel you feel comfort in, the apparel should be easy and not tight clothes. In case if assistance with clothes is desirable, let me know about that and we will discuss the options online.
Take your best mood, or even your emotional preblems and conflicts with you. We will do our best with therapeutic photography to make this photo shooting a healing one.

1. We meet in one of the parks of Kyiv that has an ancient history.
